kina got her first taste of stardom came when she was picked as a replacement member for the grammy nominated r&b female trio brownstone. in 1997 brownstone scored a hit with the single 5 miles to empty but their sophomore album was miles away from a success. kina decided to leave the band to pursue a solo career and found success with her single girl from the gutter in the spring of 2000. the single recieved good radio airplay but with the lack of promotion, her album went unnoticed. my partner loves himself some kina and i am sure you will too. take a listen!.:girl from the gutter:.
