.:you had a good girl...:.

.:flashback friday:.

ex-girlfriend were the en vogue of new jack swing. they were raw, raunchy and bad girls who sang! produced by the legendary producers full force, ex-girlfriend only managed to score one top 20 on the r&b charts with their 1991 hit why can't you come home. their second single you (you're the one for me) failed to ignite radio but it is my fave from the group. they would go on on to release two albums before breaking up in 1994. aaahhh, how i so miss the 90s!

.:mc = Move da Crowd:.

i'm feelin' the third mix. i'm still waiting for a reworked urban mix.

.:flashback friday:.

if you were a video soul addict like i was in the 90s, then you know about this group. one of the first acts signed to laface records, damian dame were coolest duo in r&b. while their pop success was limited, they did manage to score a pair of 20 hits on the r&b chart including the number one r&b hit exclusivity. the third and final single was my fave gotta learn my rhythm. i used to love this video and run the hell out of the cassette single. their 1992 debut album had a more than a few solid tunes and i am sure that their sophomore album would have been just as good. unfortunately, deah dame passed away in a fatal car accident in 1994 and damian succumbing to colon cancer in 1996. their music lives forever and this song still rocks!

.:let's get this started:.

.:stayin' strong:.

shout to our new neighbor harin. welcome to neighborhood!

.:just a chance:.

i usually do not take a liking to r&b male groups (i still can't get into day 26) but a couple of this group's songs have caught my ear, this being one of them. check it out.

.:swag to the 3rd power!:.

.:love this lady:.

i love me some her. and i love this track.

.:i'm so tempted:.

.:right here:.

.:keepin' it real:.

a special welcome to imperfectbeautystori, opinion cubana and kirk. welcome to the neighborhood.

.:just one bolt:.

here is a new tune from his forthcoming debut album. while not as catchy and fresh as the prior leak best part of me, it is still a solid track. and say what you will, as he ages, he gets sexier.

.:dark angels:.

i was feelin' this electro sound last year but it is beginning to wear thin. on another note, i am over the red head givin' me trans sex appeal!

.:a cool discovery:.

our friendly neighbor dc420 has put me on to an artist that i have slept on. i have read about her on several blogs but for whatever reason, i never checked her music out. now i thanks to dc420, i can not stop playing something to lose. click the link to download several of her songs including remixes.

.:passing by:.

because i am a huge fan of his who sometimes have too much time on my hands, i create albums (complete with artwork) with the leaked tunes of his. i am calling this cycle, harlem boy. so with that said, here is a track from that collection. enjoy!

.:flashback friday:.

honey, miss shanice was the truth during the early 90s. signed to motown in 1991 after her stint at a&m records resulted only in minor hits, it wasn't until her breakthrough single i love your smile that the world took notice. in 1993 she contributed to the motion picture soundtrack of the underwhelming meteor man. i had the cassette single and i ran it until it literally popped. and don't get me started about her hair in the accompanying video. :-)

.:flashback friday:.

this was the second single from their 1985 primitive love album. i remember my aunt janet playing this tune on our record player. i'd imagine myself dancing around with human sized cats as she did in the music video. only in the 80's could an artist get away with such a thing. gosh, i miss the 80s!

.:lookin' out:.

.:runnin':.

.:everybody get up!:.

thank you louis for puttin' me on to this jam.

.:just keep the music going...:.

.:we be chillin':.

.:gucci is the style:.

here is the video to the remix version of mc's latest hit obsessed. i am feelin' this more than the original.

.:still at work:. LINK FIXED!

i thought i was well versed on jan's catalogue especially as i was a huge fan growing up. turns out that i must have missed a class because did not even know that there was a track entitled work floating around. apparently, it is a leftover track from her now classic rhythm nation 1814 album. it's a treat and it is now added to my rhythm nation remixed playlist. thanks boogz! you are too good to me!

.:perfect aim:.

.:i wanna be down:.

here is official music video from jay sean's forthcoming u.s. debut album. oh yeah, he looks hella good!

.:first wives club:.

former wife of hip-hop producer swizz beatz, mashonda is set to return the scene with her sophomore album. hopefully it will see the light of day as her debut album was shelved. anywho, here is a tune from the yet untitled album. i'm feelin' the electro sound.

.:a is for amerie:.

yo boogz! this joint is krazy!

.:feelin' kim:.

since her 2001 debut, dance fans have waited with baited breath for a kim sozzi album. well the wait is over. her album just one day is available on itunes. here is the hard to find junior vasquez mix of her dance classic feelin' me. special thanks to dc420.

.:no regrets:.

the best tune i have heard from her forthcoming sophomore album.
