.:stylin' free sunday:.

after scoring two back to back mega radio hits with do you miss me and a little bit of ecstacy, jocelyn enriquez was set to release a double-sided single that included the electro get into the rhythm and the moving ballad even if. unfortunately, the label decided to shelve even if and just released get it into the rhythm. too bad because even if had the potential to be s huge cross-over hit for jocelyn. here is a cool freestyle mix of even if courtesy of my friend lex. enjoy! oh yeah, anyone out there have the soul solution (remember them) remix, please email me. thankx!

.:thankx lex!:.

lex, a reader of the blog sent me this super rare jocelyn tune and this is what he said about it: not sure when this was made but i'm guessing around the time she was working on her original 3rd album for tommy boy which was going into more of an r&b direction. i heard a song off the album in 98 which was really good, however nothing ever came of that album after she got pregnant and went on a 2 year hiatus and returned in 2000 with "when i get close to you." the track features mastaplann, a filipino rap group from kali. would've been a nice track if it made final production.

the first single from jocelyn's sophmore album was the now dance-pop classic do you miss me. it appeared that things would get even better with tommy boy records distributing the album. well, as we all know, with major labels comes major problems. the album, although included two billboard hot 100 singles, was provided very little promotion by tommy boy and eventually faded into oblivion. here are a slew of mixes of do you miss me. i still love this song!

.:throwback tuesday - by request:.

so mommy used to be a huge jocelyn fan back in the day. well i was actually a fan up until her last album. i would have loved it had i been born deaf. anywho, here is jocelyn at her best. a little bit of ecstacy was the second single released from her sophmore effort jocelyn. while not as popular at radio as it's predocessor do you miss me, ecstacy did manage to hit number one on billboard's maxi singles chart (does that chart still exists?). here is a collection of remixes to satisfy whatever dance craving you may have. enjoy!
