i am sure that when you think of freestyle debbie gibson does come to mind. however, she owes much of her cross-over success to the genre. her early material (i.e. only in my dreams) was extremely influenced and based on the elements of freestyle. don't believe me, peep the club mix of her top 20 smash electric youth.
