wendy moten is one of those rare talents that arrives in a flash and disappears as quickly. it escapes me why this lovely young woman with the perfect voice did not become a household name. picture it! philadelphia 1992, a young latino gay boy watched b.e.t.'s video soul. they premiere a video from a new and sultry artists. that video was was wendy's step by step and that young latino gay boy was me. the song failed at both r&b and pop radio but she did manage to garner some buzz with her second single come in out of the rain. however, it is her first single that is part of the soundtrack of my adolescent years. here's to you wendy!
