.:stylin' free sunday:.

ahh, this song brings back such memories. my childhood friend robert, who is black, loved freestyle music. i, on the other hand, wasn't too fond of it. anywho, one day in 1993 bring me a mix tape and demands that i listen to a song entitled walk away. i cave in and to my surprise, i love the damn song. although freestyle music was not my fave, i did like nearly everything carlos berrios produced and this song was no exception. this post is dedicated to my childhood best friend robert. i miss you and hope to see you soon. oh yeah, do you still remember the routine we had to this song? :-)

.:flashback friday:.

honey, in 1985 i watched solid gold faithfully, cut my shirts into crop tops and listened to the mary jane girls. i'd perform their routines to my brother's delight. i tell you, this group was a head of their time, they were the spice girls before the spice girls but with a lil more kick. unfortunately, pop success eluded them but they remain a cult favorite. the third single from their sophomore album only four you, wild & crazy love was the the follow-up single to their top 10 pop single in my house. although equally as slammin', pop radio ignored this tune. it remains one of my faves. check it out - it's worth it.
